Medieval Mutts is Kryal Castle’s first-ever dog-friendly weekend, celebrating the launch of our new pet-friendly accommodation.

Across two days, the castle comes alive with wagging tails, featuring a grand arena pet parade, royal throne room photo opportunities, market stalls, and the ceremonial knighting of our resident hound, Griffin. Whether you’re travelling with your four-legged companion or simply love dogs, this is a playful, high-energy medieval experience like no other.

*Dogs must be on leash at all times.

9 - 10 May

Make mum feel like royalty this Mother’s Day with a visit to Kryal Castle! Enjoy classic Kryal favourites including potion making, live performances and jousting. Make the day extra special by booking a relaxing stay in one of our Castle rooms, cabins or tiny homes!

23 - 24 May

Watch iron-willed warriors test their mettle in the Legends of Steel Medieval Combat Tournament! Kryal Castle becomes a battleground for brave knights and fighters for a weekend of duels, massive team melees and a Championship Joust in authentic armour. See skilled longsword, polearm and armoured mixed-martial combat. Then, between battles, enjoy familiar Castle favourites including Knight School and archery.

On the King’s Birthday long weekend, the lists of Kryal Castle will be called once more…

The Keith Ryall Tournament returns - a long-standing tradition held in honour of Kryal Castle’s creator, King Keith Ryall, whose vision gave life to the kingdom itself.

27 June -19 July

Knights battling with flaming swords, snow queens and winter magic - Knights of Fire returns to Kryal Castle these school holidays! Cosy up with a mulled wine or hot chocolate and see live performances, meet dragons, create your own snowflake ornament, or get an icy makeover with face painting and hair braiding.

1 - 2 August

Once a year, Australia’s most skilled knights journey to Kryal Castle for two days of elite and historically accurate jousting. Who will be crowned Australia's best jouster? Book tickets to find out. In between rounds, browse the wares of our authentic merchants and try potion making, archery or axe-throwing.

15 - 16 August

A flight of dragons is descending upon Kryal Castle for one weekend only! Meet and snap a photo with these magnificent beasts and see them perform tricks in a special show! Our knights honour the occasion by competing in skill-at-arms and jousting for the Dragon Cup. Plus, enjoy other dragon-themed activities around the Castle and dress up to join the Dragon Parade - where every participant wins a prize!

29 - 30 August

Back for its fourth year, the Highland Spectacular returns to Kryal Castle for a weekend of mighty celebration and rich Scottish tradition! Watch brawny lads and lassies compete in traditional highland heavy games, see massed pipes and drums and Highland dancing, plus meet fluffy highland cows and Scottish deerhounds.

5 - 6 September

Give dad a Father’s Day fit for a king by treating him to more than just a ‘knight’ off at Kryal Castle. Watch live jousting, challenge him to axe-throwing or archery, and nominate him for a competition to determine the ‘Lord of the Day’ and win a prize! Classic Kryal Castle activities, including Knight School and potion-making, make it a day of fun for the whole family.

19 September - 4 October

The legendary outlaw’s story comes to life at Kryal Castle these spring school holidays! Meet Robin Hood and his merry men - including Friar Tuck, Little John and Maid Marian - enjoy Robin Hood-themed crafts and activities, and see live performances including live jousting and roving performers. Ready to fight for the true king? Test your skills at archery and join Knight School for hands-on medieval fun.

17 - 18 October

This October, Kryal Castle proudly celebrates the strength, skill and spirit of the incredible women shaping our industry.

Across the weekend, the Castle arena will come alive with the Iron Maiden Tournament, a showcase of our powerful female knights as they take to the field for thrilling displays of horsemanship, skill at arms, and full-contact tournament action.

31 October - 1 November

Celebrate Halloween in true medieval style at one of two spine-tingling events at Kryal Castle. During the day, Trick or Treat is a family-fun adventure throughout the Castle packed with tasty treats and spooky surprises. At night, dress in your finest gothic attire and join us for an evening of adults-only indulgence at the All Hallows Court Fantasy Ball.

21 - 22 November

The Victorian Medieval Festival returns to Kryal Castle for a weekend of historical re-enactment, live entertainment and family-friendly fun! Explore a bustling medieval village with artisans and market stalls, watch thrilling massed battles, birds of prey displays and the Tree of Gold Jousting Tournament. Young adventurers can enrol in Knight School to learn the skills of knighthood, or try their hand at archery and potion making.

28 - 29 November

Saddle up for two days of thrilling competition as the Ballarat Rodeo returns to Kryal Castle. You’ll see bull riding, rodeo stunts and barrel racing over a weekend that recaptures the very essence of the Wild West. You can also settle down for live entertainment under the stars and take part in an assortment of family-friendly activities.

Forget everything you think you know about folk music. Bordó Sárkány is coming to Kryal Castle on April 26th to turn the Middle Ages up to eleven.

Straight from the heart of Hungary, this world-class ensemble delivers a high-octane performance of "medieval world music" that is as visceral as it is beautiful.
