Ignite your imagination at Kryal Castle.  You will be enthralled by our Knights of Fire and Snow Queen Neva.  The highlight of the program will be the spectacular Joust of a fiery clash of flaming lances and swords on Kryal Castle’s main arena daily.

Journey through the chambers of the Dragon Labyrinth; get lost in the maze; be enchanted by pantomimes; visit our wizard in his workshop; join in a potion-making workshop; or learn the ancient art of archery.  Attend a puppet-making workshop, or test your skills of combat at Knights Training – where you could learn to be Kryals new hero against the darkest depths of winter’s powerful forces.

Warm yourself at one of the braziers around the grounds as you enjoy the roving entertainment or make your way to our castle Abbey for pantomimes and puppetry, warm yourself by the fire while the kids are entertained.

Arena Shows & Theatre  

11:00am Street Fire Twirling

Stay warm by catching Blaze our Fire Artist perform with their fire staff outside the lower level of the Torture Dungeons! The perfect photo opportunity to start your day. (Map Reference 8)

Shadow Puppet Performance- A Tale of Ice and Snow

Find a spot near the fire, grab yourself a hot chocolate and witness this beautiful shadow puppet performance. A tale about our dear Queen Neva of Kryal, and how she was captured by the terrible curse of the wicked Black Knight. Located in our Abbey Tavern (Map ref 31.)

11:30pm: The Mounted Skill at Arms

Cheer on the Champion of Kryal as they challenge the evil Black Knight to a tournament of courage and skill. Watch on as they perform daring feats, with their brave and noble war horses. (Map ref. 12)

12:30pm Pantomime- An Unlikely Fellowship

A pair of cheeky bunnies- Peep and Pop have been pinching cabbages from the farmer’s garden during this long, cold winter. But when the farmer hires the help of a cat, their talents are put to the test! Join us in the warmth of the Abbey Tavern. You can even order some lunch! (Map ref. 31.)

2:00pm The Joust of the Flame 

Head to the Tournament Arena for the ultimate display of Knightly skills. The Evil Black Knight has challenged the Champion of Kryal to a trial of epic proportions. Will they prevail, and break the curse that holds Kryal and it’s Queen in an eternal icy winter? Be sure cheer them on as they risk life and limb before your eyes! (Map ref. 12)

 

Additional Activities  

Knight School

Children are invited to learn the skills of knighthood, under instruction from our Master at Arms with sword and shield. Max 5 participants per session, running from 10:15pm until 1:00pm daily (with a short interlude from 11:15am-12:00pm for the Mounted Skill at Arms performance) on the tournament arena (Entry in front of the blacksmith- Map Ref 16, on the Tournament Arena Map Ref 12).

Shadow Puppet Making

Sit by the fire in our Abbey Tavern and have a go at making one of our shadow puppets to take home! A great and FREE craft activity for the smaller people. Running from 11am until 1:50pm, with a short interlude for the Mounted Skill at Arms arena show from 11:20am-12:00pm. (Map Ref 31)

Archery * From $5

Learn the ancient art of archery in our indoor Archery Range! Try your hand with a real bow and arrow, who knows, Robin Hood may be recruiting soon!  (Map Ref 19)

Axe Throwing

Why not put yourself to the test… Taking place on the arena from 1:15pm until 3:45pm (with a short interlude during the Championship Joust at 2:00pm until 2:30pm) every day. Height restrictions apply. (Entry in front of the stables- Map Ref 13, on the Tournament Arena Map Ref 12).

Potion Making Classes *  $5pp

Our Alchemist has a few concoctions that they need your help with! For only $5, join their class and learn how to create your own bubbling brews. Bookings essential! Purchase tickets from our Wizard. Session times are 11am and 2:45pm.

Wizard Displays

Visit our Sorcerer in their wizard tower, conjuring potions and causing an explosion or two! Displays running throughout the day at 10:30am, 12:30pm, 1:00pm. Please note: Due to restrictions each session is limited to 15 spectators.

Torture Museum Tour

Learn about the gruesome histories of crime and punishment in our torture museum at 1:15pm. Departs from the entrance to the torture museum. Not recommended for ages 12 and under. (Map Ref. 8)

Torture Dungeon & Museum

When it comes to history, the horrible bits are sometimes the most interesting! Explore the fascinating Torture Museum exhibition before you encounter the Dungeon of doom attractions deep within the Castle. Are you brave enough to enter?

Dragon’s Labyrinth

Make your way from the castle entrance, through the labyrinth where you will find the home of our most magical creatures. Tree Sprites, dragons and fairies await you! (Map Ref. 2) Children under 10 may prefer a stroll through the She-Dragons egg garden
