Kryal Castle is proud to present the second Tasman Shield Jousting Tournament. Australia’s champion jousters will don their armour and face off against New Zealand’s finest.

Australia and New Zealand are fierce competitors on the sporting field, both boasting world class exponents of this dangerous and spectacular medieval sport.

The Australian team is captained by veteran jouster, Luke Binks of Queensland, a multiple international tournament winner. Joining him will be Andrew McKinnon from New South Wales and from Victoria, Kryal Castle’s own Katherine McWade.

The New Zealand team will be led by veteran international competitor Callum Forbes, with team mates Emily Perrin and last years rookie, Simon Neilsen.

Kryal Castle presents the perfect home team venue for the Australian team. The Castle has featured jousting as part of our entertainment since the drawbridge was first raised in 1974.

As last years Individual Champion, Phillip Leitch is invited to Marshal (Umpire) the event and ensure a fair and honorable competition.

Kryal Castles Clifford Formosa will be filling the roll of “Knight of Honor” and will step in to joust in a knights place should they have to retire from the field due to injury or other unforeseen reasons.

The event will take place over two days, two sessions per day (Three Preliminaries and a Final).

Awards will be given for winning team, individual champion and champion of the skill at arms.

And their followers have joined them, flooding through the gates of “The Rock”, the castle overlooking the city seeking plunder and pleasure.

But the chaos caused by the Monkey King last Quest has torn the heavens asunder. The cosmos is in disarray, and a rift has opened in the skies above Estra leading to the Void. And this celestial rift has drawn the eye of the denizens of the Void, who now look hungrily upon the world.

Who will you support? Who will you oppose? And who will be victorious? Enjoy The Rock, whilst you still can…”
